| Quality and added value of a product is determined by the quality of mold, and mold technology is the measure of capacity to develop new products, shorten delivery time, and reduce costs such as increased productivity and reduced process. Without advanced mold technology, it is hard to ensure growth of manufacturing industry and obtain competitiveness. |

With recent trends of shortened life cycle of products and release of new products, there is a growing need for shortened mold delivery. However, to produce lighter vehicles in response to environmental regulations, application of high strength materials and innovative materials and whole-in-all molding are increased, and a higher level of mold technology such as micro-precision and micromini parts is needed, with the trend of SMD of electronic appliances.
In addition, Korea has faced difficulties between mold advanced countries producing high value adding mold and developing countries making low cost mold. To overcome this situation, it is critical to sharpen capabilities to deal with demands from the market, through the reduction of delivery time, process, and cost. |
